The prototype’s build started in late 2014 and has been a platform to study the viability of this design. 10s of thousands of miles of testing across a multitude of road conditions gave valuable feedback to the engineering and design team regarding suspension performance and handling. Frequent full suspension teardowns were conducted to validate wear life and integrity of components.

A Honda Civic 1.7L D17 engine and drivetrain was used, along with all of the original intake, exhaust, and emissions equipment to maintain the smog performance of the original vehicle. Several elements from this car have changed going into production, including the wheel size, drivetrain, suspension, interior, and body.
